How It Works: Albendazole inhibits tubulin polymerization in helminth cells, disrupting the parasite's cytoskeleton and impairing glucose uptake and energy production, leading to immobilization and death of worms and their larvae.

Common Uses: Ascariasis, hookworm, whipworm, pinworm, hydatid disease (echinococcosis), neurocysticercosis, cutaneous larva migrans, and lymphatic filariasis (with ivermectin or DEC in MDA programs).

Administration: Take with a fatty meal to improve absorption for tissue-invasive infections. For intestinal worms, a single dose on an empty stomach is commonly used. Follow your physician's prescribed course duration.
