How It Works: Anastrozole selectively inhibits the aromatase enzyme system, preventing peripheral conversion of androgens to estrogens and maintaining significantly reduced circulating estradiol levels that would otherwise fuel hormone-sensitive breast tumors.

Common Uses: Postmenopausal HR-positive early breast cancer (adjuvant), advanced/metastatic HR-positive breast cancer, and neoadjuvant use before surgery to reduce tumor size.
