Capegard 500 MG Tablet contains Capecitabine 500mg, an oral fluoropyrimidine prodrug that mimics the efficacy of intravenous 5-fluorouracil, offering patients a convenient oral chemotherapy option for colorectal and breast cancers.

How It Works: Capecitabine is enzymatically converted to 5-FU at tumor sites via a three-step cascade ending with thymidine phosphorylase, which is overexpressed in cancer tissue, enabling selective tumor targeting.

Common Uses: Metastatic colorectal cancer, metastatic breast cancer, adjuvant colon cancer treatment, and combination regimens including XELOX (with oxaliplatin) and XELIRI (with irinotecan).

Administration: Take twice daily within 30 minutes of a meal with water. Standard cycle is 14 days on, 7 days off. Do not crush or split tablets.

Storage: Store below 30°C. Keep in original blister pack away from moisture and out of children's reach.
