Coviqueen 200 MG Tablet contains Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate 200mg, a standard-dose antimalarial and DMARD used for malaria prophylaxis and treatment, and long-term management of autoimmune conditions including lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

How It Works: Hydroxychloroquine accumulates in lysosomes and interferes with malarial haem detoxification, while in autoimmune conditions it reduces antigen presentation and inflammatory cytokine production by blocking endosomal toll-like receptors.

Common Uses: Malaria prophylaxis and treatment (non-chloroquine-resistant strains), SLE, rheumatoid arthritis, discoid lupus, and other inflammatory conditions where DMARD therapy is appropriate.

Administration: Take with food or a glass of milk to prevent stomach upset. Malaria prophylaxis begins 1–2 weeks before travel. Long-term therapy requires periodic eye examinations.
