How It Works: Tamoxifen binds to ER-alpha and ER-beta receptors in breast tissue, acting as an estrogen antagonist and blocking estrogen-driven transcription of genes that promote tumor cell proliferation.

Common Uses: Adjuvant therapy for early ER-positive breast cancer, metastatic ER-positive breast cancer, male breast cancer, and risk reduction in high-risk women (chemoprevention).

Administration: Take once daily with or without food. Long-term therapy (5–10 years) is commonly prescribed for adjuvant use. Regular monitoring including gynecological assessment is recommended.
