Flagyl 400mg Tablet contains Metronidazole 400mg, a nitroimidazole antimicrobial used for the treatment of anaerobic bacterial infections, protozoal infections, and certain parasitic conditions including amoebiasis and giardiasis.

How It Works: Metronidazole is reduced intracellularly to a cytotoxic intermediate that damages DNA in anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, disrupting nucleic acid synthesis and causing cell death in susceptible organisms.

Common Uses: Amoebiasis (intestinal and hepatic), giardiasis, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, anaerobic bacterial infections, H. pylori eradication (combination therapy), and antibiotic-associated colitis.

Administration: Take with or after food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Alcohol must be strictly avoided during treatment and for 48 hours after the last dose. Complete the full prescribed course.
