How It Works: Fluconazole selectively inhibits fungal cytochrome P450-dependent lanosterol 14α-demethylase, an enzyme essential for ergosterol biosynthesis. Without adequate ergosterol, the fungal cell membrane loses integrity, impairing growth and causing fungal cell death.

Common Uses: Forcan 200 is prescribed for systemic candidiasis and invasive fungal infections, cryptococcal meningitis, recurrent or complicated vaginal candidiasis, and antifungal prophylaxis in immunocompromised patients as directed by a specialist.
