Hydrea 500 MG Capsule contains Hydroxyurea 500mg, one of the oldest chemotherapy agents still in clinical use, effective for chronic myeloid leukemia, sickle cell disease, and certain myeloproliferative disorders.

How It Works: Hydroxyurea inhibits ribonucleotide reductase, blocking the synthesis of deoxyribonucleotides required for DNA replication, causing cancer cells to accumulate in the S phase and undergo apoptosis.

Common Uses: Chronic myeloid leukemia, polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, sickle cell disease (to reduce painful crises), and head and neck cancers with radiation.

Administration: Take orally once daily or as prescribed. Swallow whole with water. Regular blood count monitoring is essential during therapy.
