Irinotel 100 MG/5ml Injection contains Irinotecan 100mg, a topoisomerase I inhibitor used as a key component of FOLFIRI and other colorectal cancer chemotherapy regimens.

How It Works: Irinotecan is converted to its active metabolite SN-38, which stabilizes the topoisomerase I-DNA cleavage complex, causing lethal single-strand DNA breaks during cancer cell replication.

Common Uses: Metastatic colorectal cancer (FOLFIRI regimen), second-line colorectal cancer after 5-FU failure, and small cell lung cancer in combination with platinum agents.

Administration: Administered by IV infusion over 30–90 minutes in an oncology center. Atropine premedication prevents acute cholinergic diarrhea; loperamide is required for delayed diarrhea management.

Storage: Store below 25°C away from light. Do not freeze. Diluted solutions are stable for a limited time at room temperature.
