Nixanide 500mg Tablet contains Nitazoxanide 500mg, a broad-spectrum antiprotozoal and anthelmintic agent used for the treatment of diarrheal diseases caused by Cryptosporidium parvum and Giardia intestinalis.

How It Works: Nitazoxanide interferes with the pyruvate ferredoxin/flavodoxin oxidoreductase (PFOR) enzyme-dependent electron transfer reaction in anaerobic protozoa and helminths, disrupting energy metabolism and causing organism death.

Common Uses: Cryptosporidiosis, giardiasis, amoebiasis, and certain helminth infections; also used in the treatment of rotavirus and norovirus-associated diarrhea.

Administration: Take with food twice daily for 3 days. Swallow whole with water. The full 3-day course must be completed even if symptoms improve before completion.
