How It Works: Oxaliplatin forms bifunctional platinum-DNA adducts that inhibit DNA replication and transcription, inducing apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells that are often resistant to cisplatin.

Common Uses: Adjuvant treatment of stage III colon cancer after resection, treatment of advanced colorectal cancer in combination with fluorouracil and leucovorin.

Administration: Administered by IV infusion by a healthcare professional. Avoid cold exposure during and 48 hours post-infusion to minimize acute cold-induced neuropathy.
