How It Works: Procarbazine is a prodrug activated in the liver to reactive species that methylate DNA bases, causing cross-linking, strand breaks, and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells.

Common Uses: Hodgkin's lymphoma (MOPP regimen), high-grade gliomas (PCV regimen with lomustine and vincristine), and brain metastases.

Administration: Take orally with food. Avoid tyramine-rich foods (aged cheeses, red wine, cured meats) due to weak MAO inhibition. Alcohol must be strictly avoided during treatment.
