How It Works: Capecitabine undergoes enzymatic activation to 5-FU preferentially at tumor sites via high thymidine phosphorylase activity, minimizing systemic toxicity while maintaining potent anti-cancer effects.

Common Uses: Metastatic colorectal cancer, metastatic breast cancer after failure of paclitaxel and anthracycline chemotherapy, and adjuvant colon cancer treatment.

Administration: Take twice daily within 30 minutes after meals with water. Cycle typically 14 days on followed by 7 days off. Do not crush tablets.
